Success – whatever it takes.

And so it began.

After I handed in my thesis, I got my first job straight away. Building emergency shelters in Armenia. A severe earthquake had cost 50,000 people their lives and 500,000 their homes.

After one year (1989-1990), 550 temporary prefabricated houses were standing in 20 villages.

Since then, I have often worked for the Red Cross as a civil engineer.

Motorbike

I’ve always ridden a motorbike. Like most people, the vehicles have gradually got bigger. My Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally has been with me for several years now and it will stay that way. We have travelled to many European countries with friends.

Scuba diving

We only discovered our love of diving a few years ago. There is nothing better than gliding through warm tropical waters with turtles, sharks or rays or marvelling at small fish, plants and corals in the reefs.

Computers & Electronics

Time flies when I’m working with software or electronics. There’s nothing around you and your mind is free. If you’ve never done it before, you can’t understand why you spend ages developing and soldering a project – and then put it in the drawer when it’s finished.
